DC Studios Already Has The Perfect Absolute Batman
Although DC Studios has several Batman projects in development, one of the most exciting is undoubtedly the recently announced Absolute Batman animated series. While details on the show are still slim, it’s worth sharing that one actor has essentially already submitted an audition tape to play the Absolute Universe’s alternate version of Bruce Wayne (months before the series was officially announced). On the page, Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta’s radical and epic reimagining of The Dark Knight has become one of DC Comics’ greatest publishing successes. Set in a darker universe created by Darkseid, where hope is limited and heroes are underdogs operating outside their typical status quos, Absolute Batman is a younger, more aggressive Bruce Wayne who’s also far more grounded, lacking the wealth, vast resources, or influence of his mainline DC Universe counterpart.
Likewise, the entire Absolute Batman comic series has reworked much of the established Batman mythos into something familiar yet extremely fresh and exciting. Overall, it seems that success has led to rapid speed on the part of DC Studios, considering that the entire comic series is less than two years old. Keeping that in mind, DC Studios could perhaps streamline production even further if they cast the perfect voice actor for Bruce Wayne, one who’s already gone to the trouble of submitting a public audition tape specifically for this alternate Dark Knight.
Aleks Le Already “Auditioned” To Play Absolute Batman 7 Months Ago
Back in December 2025, voice actor Aleks Le uploaded a performance for fun that very much felt like a legitimate screen test. Reading dialogue directly from Absolute Batman #13, Le performed Bruce Wayne’s powerful speech to Gotham before his epic showdown with the true horror that was Absolute Bane. Without a doubt, Le’s unique Batman voice perfectly captures the full intensity of Absolute Batman as a far more aggressive and brutal Bruce Wayne in this darker universe. Additionally, Le has plenty of solid experience with quite an impressive resume, having already voiced Daredevil in Marvel Rivals and Mark Grayson in Invincible VS, not to mention his anime roles in Solo Leveling and Demon Slayer. He’s already proven himself more than capable of taking on the emotional intensity and darkness required for a role like Absolute Batman (even before making the video).

While no one yet knows who’s going to land the major voice role, Aleks Le at least deserves an official shot, especially with his video serving as some solid proof of concept for what his Absolute Batman could sound like. He’s also gained some solid support from fans since the video was posted. If DC Studios truly wants its animated Absolute Batman series to hit the ground running, Aleks Le deserves to be at the top of the audition list.

When DC Studios officially revealed at the end of June that an animated Absolute Batman series is in development, it was also confirmed that the creative team behind the original comics would be heavily involved. Not only will Scott Snyder serve as showrunner, but Nick Dragotta has also joined the project as a producer. Without a doubt, having the original architects of Absolute Batman guiding the adaptation will certainly help preserve the spirit of the comic.
Here’s hoping the new series will have the right voice talents as well. All things considered, you really can’t go wrong with a proven voice actor like Aleks Le for Absolute Batman, especially when he’s clearly so passionate about the role and a major fan of the comic series. My fingers are “absolutely” crossed for future casting announcements. The animated Absolute Batman series is currently in development at DC Studios.
