007 First Light Free Download Officially Yours To Grab For 48 Hours

Telling the story of James Bond as a young and reckless recruit who finds himself immersed in the exploits of MI6, 007: First Light launched just last month to instant success. Giving us a glimpse into James Bond long before he became the 007 that we all know and love offered enough of a unique spin to attract fans, and with over 2.7 million copies sold in just its first week, it is safe to say that it was a success.

Developed by IO Interactive and based around an original story inspired by Ian Fleming’s James Bond series, 007: First Light saw Patrick Gibson take on the titular role, as well as being joined by the likes of Lennie James, Lenny Kravitz and Gemma Chan. Praised for its gameplay, combat, writing, and Gibson’s portrayal of Bond, 007: First Light cemented itself as one of the best loved games of 2026. Now, almost a month on from launch, and IO Interactive has announced a brand-new freebie that 007: First Light players can get their hands on for a limited time. To celebrate the recent Summer Game Fest, which was where the upcoming 007: First Light DLC was announced, IO Interactive is giving players the chance to pick up the Spotlight Phone Gadget skin for free. Throughout the game, Bond will use a variety of different gadgets to help him gain the upper hand in combat. In this instance, the Phone, otherwise known as a Dart Phone, can shoot out poison darts to help disorient the enemy and make them susceptible to takedowns. This freebie is an exclusive cover for the phone. To get your hands on it, simply head over to player.gg before 30 June and connect to your chosen platform.
Any exclusive is a win in my book, and just goes to show that IO Interactive is far from finished with updates for 007: First Light, especially after recently announcing its first year roadmap. As for the hit action-adventure game itself, our very own Kyle Gratton scored it an impressive 9/10. His review read:
007 First Light has a legitimate claim to being the best James Bond video game ever. It likely won’t be as influential as GoldenEye 007, and it can’t recapture my childhood memories of snipers-only duels on Nightfire’s Ravine map, but it has a deep understanding of what makes James Bond so magnetic. The car chases and extravagant villain lairs are essential, but the keystone is the globe-trotting covert ops.
So, if you are yet to play 007: First Light and want to do so in style, make sure to check out this limited-time freebie courtesy of IO Interactive.
