Scary Movie 6 Outdoes Scream 7 With Record-Breaking Global Box Office Debut

In addition to parodying modern horror movies such as The Substance and Sinners, it lampoons legacy sequels including 2022’s Scream and 2018’s Halloween, with the support of legacy cast members including Anna Faris as Cindy Campbell, Regina Hall as Brenda Meeks, Marlon Wayans as Shorty Meeks, Shawn Wayans as Ray Wilkins, Cheri Oteri as Gail Hailstorm, Lochlyn Munro as Greg Phillippe, and Dave Sheridan as Doofy Gilmore. Per Deadline, as of Sunday morning, Scary Movie is projected to close out its opening weekend with a 3-day global total of $105.5 million, comprising $55 million from the domestic box office (which is the best domestic debut of the franchise, not adjusted for inflation), and an additional $50.5 million from international theaters. This gives it the best global debut of the entire franchise, in addition to besting the $97 million global debut of 2026’s Scream 7, even though it’s the latest sequel in the slasher franchise that inspired Scary Movie in the first place.
