New Resident Evil Appearance Has Fans Freaking Out

Resident Evil is arguably at the height of its popularity now, with every new installment or remake it announces being met with a ton of hype. That said, fans’ adoration of the franchise is not restricted to Capcom’s Resident Evil games themselves. Resident Evil is no stranger to Universal Studios in general, with the limited-time Resident Evil experience having only recently commenced for the summer at Universal Horror Unleashed in Las Vegas. However, a brand-new attraction has since been teased and subsequently revealed, and it’ll be a particularly special treat for fans of the newest mainline Resident Evil game.

On X, Universal Studios Japan teased what was unmistakably an attraction of some sort that is explicitly related to Resident Evil, specifically Resident Evil Requiem. The dead giveaway was the ominous hallway shot of the Wrenwood Hotel, as well as the hand of Resident Evil Requiem’s pursuer, the Girl, reaching down from the ceiling at the viewer. A couple of days later, this was officially revealed as the attraction “Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive” at Universal Studios Japan’s Halloween Horror Nights. Updated promotional artwork for the attraction depicts Leon S. Kennedy, a licker, and an attendee in fright, and the event itself is described as “an extreme terror experience in a horror maze that recreates the world of ‘Resident Evil Requiem,’ where even a moment’s lapse in vigilance is not allowed.”

Hilariously, Reddit user Prestigious-Cup-6613 writes, “It better have the singing lady or I’m not going.” User XenowolfShiro is excited about the potential that an attraction like this has, considering how iconic and frightening Resident Evil Requiem’s enemies are: “Having a replica of the nurses’ station with The Girl animatronic would go so hard.”

Users like IchiyoGokusaki and Terrible_Shopping_23 agree that they wish it would come to Universal Studios Orlando, rather than being Universal Studios Japan-exclusive. This simply gives fans another incentive among foundations to make the trip, though it would truly be incredible if more exclusive attractions went global.

It’s unknown if Leon and/or Grace Ashcroft will make an actual appearance in the attraction somehow, but we do know that it’ll take place within the Resident Evil Requiem’s Wrenwood Hotel and Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center. Fortunately, there won’t be much longer that fans have to wait to find out. Having an attraction that’s inspired by the game so soon after its release is a wonderful celebration. Plus, fans don’t even have Resident Evil Requiem’s confirmed story-related DLC yet. “Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive” will reportedly run from September 11, 2026, to December 26, 2026, meaning there’s plenty of time for Resident Evil enthusiasts to attend before, during, and after the spooky season this fall.
