Cyberpunk 2077: Apex Expands The Game’s Map
Thanks to its setting of Night City, a metropolis soaked in neon light, with towering skyscrapers, busy streets, and flying parades, Cyberpunk 2077 has become one of the most iconic titles in gaming history. Released back in 2020 by CD Projekt RED, the RPG, set in the not-so-distant future, has received praise for its setting, characters, gameplay, and action-packed moments, so much so, that it has gone on to inspire multiple other projects.

From hit anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which welcomes its second season this Fall, to a recent collaboration with Wuthering Waves, Fortnite, and Apex Legends, the world of Cyberpunk 2077 is more alive than ever, and this exciting free download improves the fictional world even more by extending its map even further. Courtesy of Nox and MrBilL61 over on Nexus Mods, APEX is a free-to-download mod for Cyberpunk 2077 which was uploaded back in February. Once downloaded, it will add a brand-new location to the Badlands area of the map, complete with a new area to explore and an unlockable safehouse. If you do not have enough Eddies for another safehouse, worry not, as you will automatically gain access to it following a brief new quest. Not only that, but the APEX mod that requires both Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty to run, has its very own lore, with its story reading as follows:
A remnant of the Unification War, many a nomad has gazed upon it’s weather-beaten façade;
But few dare venture to its gates.
Nobody is really sure why Militech left the site, but many have tried claiming it for themselves.
Every time, though, the facility’s still-active and lethal defenses have kept them at bay.
That is until an unorthodox crew of mercenaries, with business in Night City, successfully breached
its security and repurposed it as their base of operations for a time.
Now it stands to be claimed again—or rather, it beckons to be.
Unlike previous safehouses in Cyberpunk 2077, this brand-new one will come with unique interactions, making it worth your time spending some hours hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Featuring a Militarism/Nomad blend aesthetic, it also comes alongside a garage for V to store their vehicles. Not only that, but players can cook food, watch movies in bed, head to the shooting range or sort out their growing arsenal.
Additionally, if you are a fan of exploring, you will want to head over to the small buildings surrounding the brand-new safehouse, as they may just feature their very own stories and, most importantly, loot.
APEX is just one of thousands of mods available for Cyberpunk 2077, but this is definitely one you will want to add to your game if you are looking for another reason to head to Night City once more.
