Marvel Officially Unveils New Deadpool & Blade Team Up

Marvel has been announcing a number of exciting new projects, redesigns, and more as of late, which is perfectly timed considering the impressive slate of movies and comics releasing in the coming months. The majority of these major reveals center around one specific project that is releasing extremely soon. Fans have been hyped to see this Marvel title come to fruition and see its plethora of characters clash in explosive action. The latest reveal, which comes off the back of a huge new Captain America redesign, sees unlikely companions, Blade and Deadpool, team up. The team-up is sure to please diehard fans of both characters, as well as those who’ve had the pleasure of reading the comics in which they join forces or, on occasion, butt heads. Of course, in order to get to enjoy such a great team-up, first, fans have to experience this brand-new Marvel project for themselves.
In the latest Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls trailer, developer Arc System Works showcased four new characters. Of course, the most prominently featured was the brand-new Marvel Tokon Deadpool, voiced by Nolan North, who stole the show wth his typical fourth wall-breaking antics and unpredictable fighting style. The others included in the trailer were Loki, Ghost Rider, and, as alluded to, the dhampir Blade, a.k.a Eric Brooks. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls’ glowing previews painted a pretty positive picture of the upcoming fighting game, which bodes well for the implementation of these four new additions, jokingly referred to as the Midnight Sons initially, but then revealed to be the Samurai Outriders. What is most important, however, is the teaming up of Deadpool and Blade, two characters who have previously met and fought alongside one another, both on screen and on the page.

In the comics, Blade and Deadpool aren’t typically allies, but they have met a few times. This includes, but isn’t limited to, Deadpool: Dracula’s Gauntlet, a comic in which Deadpool prevents Blade from killing Dracula’s soon-to-be wife, Shiklah, and then teams up with him later to actually defeat Dracula. Of course, in the recent Deadpool & Wolverine, Blade and Deadpool briefly fight alongside one another in a cameo-laden sequence. Deadpool is also a DLC character for Marvel’s Midnight Suns and can be teamed up with Blade, who plays a major role in that game.
Seeing them side by side in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is a lot of fun, and they make for a fun blade-wielding pair. Naturally, there are lots of other fighters with whom they can team up, but the potential for gun and sword action between the two of them is too tempting to pass on. Who knows how they’ll stack up against the Knights of Doom or any of the other previously revealed teams, but, at the very least, they’re bound to make Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls a truly memorable experience.
